American novelist. Gregg Kleiner was born and raised in Oregon. At age , he lived for a year as an American Foreign Exchange Student in the mountains of northern Thailand where he spent a month living as novice in a Buddhist monastery. A graduate of the University of Oregon with degrees in Journalism and German literature, he has also been a dairy goat farmer, a hotel concierge in Switzerland, carpenter, a freelance journalist, a wildlife biologist, and a technical writer. His first novel, Where River Turns To Sky, was published in and was a finalist for both the Patterson Fiction Prize and the Oregon Book Award that same year. In addition to writing, he is currently the Director of Marketing & Communications for the College of Engineering at Oregon State University.
