British biographer Nigel Hamilton took an honors degree in history at Cambridge University. Thereafter, he was a professor of biography in England where he taught the history of biography and its role in the development of modern culture. His first major biography, The Brothers Mann, was critically acclaimed both in Britain and the U.S. Monty, his three-volume official biography of the legendary World War II commander Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery won the Whitbread Prize and Templer Medal. After ten years as official biographer of Field Marshal Montgomery, he became the John F. Kennedy Scholar and Visiting Professor in the John W. McCormack Institute of Public Affairs, University of Massachusetts at Boston where he wrote the bestselling JFK: Reckless Youth and then Bill Clinton: An American Journey. He is currently working on the second and final volume of JFK: Life and Death of an American President.
