California poet and husband of Katherine Philips Edson. Charles Farwell Edson ( - ) was a little-known California poet mentioned most often as the husband of Katherine Philips Edson ( - ), an American social reformer, feminist, and suffragist who was responsible for the minimum wage bill passed by the California Legislature in . She was also a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 20, and appointed by President Harding as a member of the advisory committee of the Conference on the Limitation of Armaments in 21. He met his wife in Chicago and they moved to California where they divorced in . Edson published two collections of poems, West in , and Debt which was undated. In , he provided the poems for Los Angeles From the Sierras to the Sea, a collection of etchings and drawings by Marion Holden Pope. The edition of illustrator Joseph Pennell's San Francisco, the City of the Golden Gate contained of his poems on leaves of thinner paper inserted facing Pennell's plates.
