'American television personality and businessman best known for hosting Richard Wagstaff 'Dick' Clark began his television career in Utica. NY, but moved to Philadelphia in to take a job as a disc jockey at radio station which had an affiliated television station broadcasting a show called 'Bob Horn's Bandstand'. Clark, who was a regular substitute host on the show, became its full time host in . The show was renamed American Bandstand in when ABC began broadcasting it nationally. It ran daily until , then weekly until . Clark has been involved as the host or producer of numerous other television and radio ventures including the very successful game show The $,0 Pyramid which won nine Emmy Awards for best game show, and for which Clark won three Emmys for best game show host. Clark received Emmy awards in , , , and , the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in , and a Peabody Award in . He is an inductee at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Radio Hall of Fame, the Broadcasting Magazine Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame. He remains a entertainment executive as chairman and CEO of Dick Clark Productions, and continues to expand a chain of music-themed restaurants called Dick Clark's American Bandstand Grill.'
