Canadian non-fiction writer, television personality and journalist. Pierre Francis Berton [20 � 20] was the author of books covering the diverse genres of Canadiana and Canadian history, popular culture, religious critiques, anthologies, children's books and non-fiction historical works for youth. He served as managing editor of Maclean's magazine before becoming a major TV personality. Along with numerous honorary degrees, Berton received over literary awards.
