BUDAY BOOKS / VINTAGE READING (TM)--Victor and Rita Buday, Proprietors
  • Printers / Publishers (now retired) & Booksellers (still at it) since 1947.
  • Member, Cooperstown NY Chamber of Commerce since 1980
  • Member, Ephemera Society of America
  • ENJOY "RITA'S NOTEBOOK"; and "SILENT ECHOES: STORIES HEARD OVER THE BACK FENCE"
    (no selling on either page) ;
    both found at our website shown above.

    STILL AT IT--
    We began in 1947, with editorial work for a national literary magazine...then for a daily newspaper...& lastly for 30-some years, editing & printing weekly sale catalogues for an international book auction house -- all the while buying & selling books from College & Private Libraries. It's been interesting for 60 years--and it still is!

    DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "EX-LIB" & "OUR BOOKS FROM COLLEGE & PRIVATE LIBRARIES"
    "Ex-lib" (public library) books usually lead a hard life. Most have been torn, underlined, scribbled, used as coasters under wet coffee cups, highlighted, dropped in puddles, & stood on to reach the top shelf. That is why we discard almost every "ex-lib" survivor. ||| "Our Books from College & Private Libraries" are a different matter. Ours are mostly Primary Source Books, Monographs, Offprints, etc. from collectors, non-circulating & college laboratories, professors' reference books. Most rarely need overhaul. The rest have their card pockets removed; spine labels & marks eliminated; loose pages re-glued; frayed tips & spine ends repaired to respectable appearance. ||| An accurate, detailed, reliable description--in plain, everyday English--& a brief outline of content "puts the book in your hands" so you can judge its usefulness to you.

    SINCE 1947--YOUR SATISFACTION IS UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED!
    "If, within 30 days after receiving your book, you regret the purchase for any reason, please do not hesitate to return it at our expense for prompt full refund including cost of return postage." THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS, NO "FINE PRINT," NO LOOPHOLES.

    WHEN YOU CONTACT US
    by e-mail at vr@budaybooks.com, or by phone at (607) 783-2313, you reach real, live people -- Rita or Victor Buday -- not "Press 1, Press 2." We answer your questions -- confirm that we own the book -- that it is available -- on our shelf -- right now! We inspect, pack, & ship your order on next business day -- treat you like a customer with the kind of Service we've offered as printers & booksellers since 1947.
