Volume 1, Au Jardin de l'Infante, 248 p., is numbered 4713 on verso of title-page; the "several poems" by the French symbolist are Évocations (10 poems), Vas Tristitiæ (6), L'Allée Solitaire (11), and L'Urne Penchée (15). Volume 2 (spine title: Aux flancs du Vase; 291 p.) contains Le Chariot d'Or (Les Roses dans la Coupe (25 poems); Élégies (11); Intérieur (13), La Symphonie Héroïque (Évocations (15); Symphonie Héroique (4), and Aux Flancs du Vase (25). Two volumes, 20.5 cm., strikingly bound by "Norman" in delicately mottled calf with blue marbled calf onlay bordered in blue. The hand-painted spines have blue painted borders and show (vol. 1) a tree behind a marble stairway leading to water with (2) the other half of the tree, the right-hand side of the staircase, and three swans on the water. The spine painting is signed "A T 1923". Top edges gilt; near fine in marbled-paper slipcase. A lovely, gift-quality set. 32519 {mvo}.
