3.   Baxter, George Owen   Red Devil of the Range   Picture
Publisher: The Macaulay Company, 1934 New York. Book. Book condition: Good. No Jacket. Hardcover 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall George Owen Baxter was a pseudonym for Frederick Faust, who also wrote as Max Brand, as well as other names. "The Red Pacer, wild range horse, had been captured, but not until Everard Winton appeared did he acknowledge a master. The wild streak in Everard and the devil in the Red Pacer became one, and together they gallop through aa amazing a series of adventures a thrill-expert George Owen Baxter has ever penned. Among the unusual characters portrayed are Timberline, an outlaw whom Robin Hood would have shaken hands with; Carson Jimmy, a bad man and no mistake; and sweet Dolly Gray, a pert heroine, who contributes substantially to the story, not merely a part of the last chapter clinch. And among the big doings in the book is the swift and throbbing narrative of the clean-up of an outlaw hangout, which ranks among the biggest scenes present in recent Western fiction." 320 pages. Book is in GOOD condition; discoloration to cover (see photo); binding tight; text pages clean and white. No dust jacket.
